Questions before you choose a candle.

A 12 oz (340 g) blend of soy at 55%, coconut at 35% and beeswax at 10%, with three lead-free cotton wicks, in a matte cream glass jar with a gold metal lid. Scent, where there is any, comes from essential oils. There is no paraffin, no phthalate, no dye and no synthetic fragrance. The wax also carries a trace of metallic silver at roughly 10 micrograms per gram.

Wax particles leave the flame, each carrying a trace of silver, and attract other particles in the air. Where the wax touches another particle, the silver inactivates it, and together they grow heavy and fall. It works only while the candle is burning. This is not a device that treats a room and then stops.

Glow Guardian is tested as a complete system. Current evidence supports the performance of the finished candle, while research continues to quantify how much each individual pathway contributes.

Chamber testing was carried out at ARE Labs between 2024 and 2025, under AHAM and ASHRAE 241 air-cleaner protocols. The article tested was the complete burning candle, in a room-sized chamber, alongside untreated control chambers. Every figure we publish is net of those controls.

The maximum airborne silver measured while the candle burned was 1.01 ng/m³ — at least 800× below the NIOSH recommended exposure limit and at least 9,900× below the OSHA permissible exposure limit. It was measured under Good Laboratory Practice conditions in a residential-room simulation against a control candle, by filter sampling and ICP-MS.

Safety findings are reported on their own. They come from a separate study from the chamber work, and the two are never combined into a single figure.

Yes. Treat it as you would any lit candle. Keep it out of reach of children and pets, on a stable, level surface, and never leave it burning unattended.

About 40 hours, at roughly 8 grams per hour. One candle is suited to a room of about 150–250 ft²; in larger or open-plan spaces, use more than one.

Light it in the room you are in. Testing measured it at one hour, 90 minutes and two hours, and two hours recorded the highest reduction. In controlled room-sized chamber testing, every tested virus and bacteria surrogate showed at least 87.9% net reduction after one hour and at least 99.15% after two hours.

In a separate medium-room test: MS2 · ASHRAE/AHAM · 88% ±3% net reduction · 90 minutes · vs. untreated control.

Deliberately restrained. Most of this category competes on throw strength. This one does not — the scent is meant to be noticed when you walk in and then leave you alone. If you would rather have none at all, 07 Tranquility is unscented.

It comes down to taste. All four share the same wax, wicks and jar. Only the essential oils change, and 07 Tranquility has none at all.
